about

The Daphne Francis Gallery was established in response to a growing need in Central England for showcasing contemporary and fine art by emerging and known local and national artists.

Based in the industrial heart of England - which has historically produced and provided inspiration for many notable artists, writers and musicians - the gallery seeks to promote the work of contemporary artists through exhibitions, events, and off-site installations in alternative spaces.

The gallery began as an artist-led collaboration, and over the past few years has promoted and supported many artists through exhibitions and event opportunities. Projects to bring artists together, and help with artist development, have been part of the overall support network offered. This ethos continues with the gallery today, introducing the work of new artists, alongside the more established artists, and encourages the use of acquired space for experimentation and cross discipline collaboration.

Works by Gallery Artists are held in national and international collections.
